Rainy Day Rambling

Totally stoked! We have been suffering from a bit of a drought here in Orlando, and I think it's part of what has been making people cranky. Whenever it rains, rain brings this purifying beautiful fresh feeling, and not having it, I really really think has put a damper on people and how they react.

A few hours ago, it was like someone had opened flood gates! It was this beautiful, cool downpour of nothing but refreshing and wonderful rain! Of course, everyone on vacation was unhappy about it, but I think all the locals did a happy dance! We went grocery shopping at the local Publix on Central Florida Parkway and everyone was so nice and happy! So whoever was doing the rain dance out there? Good Job! You succeeded! Now KEEP doing it!! ;)

We are still looking at apartments in the Winter Park, Casselberry, Altamonte area, and unfortunately have not found anything yet. Prices are going up again in a poor economy, and I will never understand that. We live in a 2 bedroom apartment currently for $800 a month, but there are so many things wrong with it that it is 100% not worth it to stay here. Between the crappy lay out and all the damages that previous tenants had, then our dishwasher flooding the apartment and that never being repaired, it is time. Time to move on to bigger, better, and much more beautiful things. If I could find another newer 2 bedroom where we want to be or even a 1 bedroom with a den, for around the same price, I would be so happy I would post a video of me doing an insane happy dance!

In other news, I need to step back again and refocus on my health and my life. I have let school and work effect me very negatively and have to get back to the happy, healthy, and wonderful person I used to be, and will be again! I am blessed and highly favored and know that I can do this! Between my blood pressure being through the roof and always having my body be in pain, this is no bueno. Time to ramp up the motivation, get back on the positive track, and remember why I am so awesome!

Speaking of health, part of that is exercise, and part of exercise is bowling! Apparently, Downtown Disney is putting in this GINORMOUS bowling alley called Splitsville in where the Virgin Megastore (RIP) used to be! Now, that is something I would be willing to check out in a heartbeat! I just wish that they would bring back Pleasure Island! What a terrible business decision to get rid of the one place where people can escape to and truly have fun (well, for adults... and that's why it was so bad to get rid of it!). Alas, things must change, but to make way for more restaurants and shopping? Meh... doesn't excite me! I have stayed away from Disney for the majority of the past year, and think it is in the best interest to continue to do so. Walt's dream was for creativity, inspiration, positive memories, family connections, and a beautiful tomorrow... NOT food, shopping, and crap.

Que sera sera... I'm intrigued to see what the next few years will bring in as far as business and I wish all the theme parks in the area nothing but the best success. It takes a lot to run one of those beasts and everyone is doing what they can with demanding tourists needs.

That's all for now! A little tie dye from my brain to yours! Hope you have a wonderful day and if you can't find anything enjoyable here, may you find it elsewhere! Always remember: You are Blessed and Highly Favored!

Sunny Skies Ahead!

So today was a really amazing day...

Waking up this morning, Orlando was absolutely beautiful and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated the crisp air when I walked out my door! You could take an intense wiff of fresh air and smell nothing but beautiful tropical coolness! Not the normal sticky stuff that makes you sweat the second you think of going outside, but the smooth tropical breeze of what vacations are suppose to be! The trees were gracefully passing in the breeze with the sun, gently caressing your skin from between each passing fluffy cloud! Today... Was a beautiful Orlando day. So now I'll stop making people who are in the frozen tundra jealous, buried in their 3 feet of snow and sub zero temperatures... Oh wait... you guys haven't really gotten a winter yet have you? ;)

I digress...

Anywho, this evening had a great clear sky and beautiful weather! It was fun to head home after a great day, and now I get to enjoy a few episodes of Futurama and House!

Hope everyone out else in Orlando is enjoying their night, and if you aren't here, hop on a plane and come enjoy the town!

Just a lil 411 from the brain of a service industry maniac! If my blog makes you happy awesome, if not, hope you find something you enjoy that makes you happy! Deuces! xoxo

SLOW DOWN!!!

Millions upon millions of people wake up each morning in different parts of the world. Some get to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner, while others have to struggle and scrape by to hope they get something to satisfy their hunger. Then you have those who wake up, hail a taxi, and they’re off to the airport for their next flight, making sure businesses are running properly. They may be CEO’s, Vice Presidents, Managers, or they could be someone interviewing for a new position half way around the world. Others are struggling to make ends meet, they’ve never stepped foot outside the city they have been in for years, or they could be homeless, living day by day hoping for the next quick buck they get.

People!!! Stop and breathe! I am always amazed at the people that are in a mad rush in this world and seemingly never stopping to look around them. Lord knows that I myself get caught up in those moments, but if society does not take a moment to stop, take a look around, and gain a greater appreciation for their surroundings, they will never truly experience life. I’m amazed that there are so many little things out there that people on a daily basis miss. We as a society have become so consumed by the ideals of bigger, quicker, immediate, NOW! The cell phones we carry give us the most immediate access to this vast network of information, and we carry them with us waiting for that next e-mail, responding to fifty other e-mails, and consistently stuck with the dang thing glued to our hands!

Where I work, and live, I see people starting and ending beautiful vacations every day. This for me is a privilege and is something I used to really enjoy! I used to love seeing people enjoy their vacations, but lately, it’s become a nightmare. I would say about 1 out of every 10 people that comes on vacation is truly happy. Never in my life have the words “What is wrong with you?!”, “YOU ruined my vacation”, or “I need wireless to get online to enjoy vacation!” been uttered so much! People have lost connection with the real world. It’s like they think that being away and online still a vacation. They go to these amazing places, foreign and domestic, just to escape their every day life, but they bring it with them in the form of technology! This just baffles me! If I ever get a chance to take a vacation you bet your sweet butt the only thing I’m doing is bringing a camera! You do NOT need to check your Facebook 100 times a day to see who liked your last photo, you do NOT need to see how many people viewed your profile, what you DO need, is that time to re-connect with your family, friends, and loved one! So do me a favour, when you go on vacation next, I challenge you: Take just a Camera. Nothing more, nothing less. Take a photo of everything you do, write a postcard to loved ones that weren’t as lucky to join you, and get involved in the local festivities! I’m 100% sure you will be more happy then you have ever been on any vacation!

The other day out and about, I said a simple “Hi” to someone. This person whipped around and demanded an explanation of why I would even consider saying “Hi” to someone I don’t know and wanted to know if I was crazy. Erm, I just said Hi! I was being nice, Ya know,

hi/hī/

Exclamation:

Used as a friendly greeting or to attract attention: "“Hi there. How was the flight?”".

I guess, the long story short of this quick little write-up, is share more love!!!! Share more happy moments and connections with people! Offer to buy someone a cup of coffee for pete’s sake! Surprise your co-worker with their favorite lunch, help an elderly person with their groceries, give some homeless people, (if it is legal where you are), some food, clothes, or items to clean with. Not everyone has a glamorous movie style life, but everyone does deserve the chance to be happy, share that happiness, and make an impact on others lives.

That’s the 411 skinny today from my brain, and if you enjoyed it great! If not, hopefully you will find something that makes you happy elsewhere!
